Innovative Bimetallic Twin Screw Coatings by KET

First Time in India. The resistance against wear has been the paramount need of the engineering components. Barrels and screws are the most wear prone components in plastics processing. High percentage of fillers is the most important reason for wear. All plastics machinery manufacturers have been predominantly using Nitriding as hardening process for these components. Several advances in the pipe extrusion plants have resulted in enhanced outputs and low power consumption. This situation demands better wear resistance. With the help of modern technology, KET offers an innovative cost effective development of coated bimetallic twin screws to the customers. These screws are coated in wear prone areas with specially developed material and process termed as Kabralloy 106. This alloy works well with the nitrided barrels. With this coating the life is expected to be twice as compared to nitrided screws. New coatings for various applications are being constantly developed.
